Phil Lukacek is the owner and founder of Spin It DJ. After working for a number of DJ companies in the suburbs of Chicago, he decided to start his own company in 2007. Though he only started DJing professionally once he graduated from DePaul University in 2004, he has always had a love of music.

This started when his parents always had Oldies 104.3 on car trips growing up. At Worth schools Phil started playing Saxophone, adding Clarinet and Harmonica once joining the Marist Band. His exposure to all genre's of music expanded through high school and college as he was one of the people that began to embrace the "experimental" file format of an .mp3.

Phil is also a Network Analyst for Nitel USA, as well as an adjunct professor at Moraine Valley Community College. Formally he was the IT Manager at Imperial Crane Services. It was through his IT work that he became a DJ. While repairing the computer of DJ and future mentor Gary, Phil was playing a large range of music on his own laptop as he worked. Gary noticed the large range of musical tastes and decided to give him a shot at becoming a DJ.
